And a public plan, like Medicare, doesn't have the government between you and your doctor. Ask your friends on Medicare the last time they thought the government was interfering with their doctor. Medicare coverage is pretty comparable to any private plan. And by the way, Medicare is run by private contractors, not the government. And the Federal Employee Health Benefit Plan, the other model for the public option: it's just the feds negotiating for discounts with - you guessed it - private insurers like Blue Cross. so the next time you hear these lies - and don't get me started on Sarah Palin's crap about the government deciding whether her Down's baby will die - ask who's paying them to lie.
