-- GOP consultant and dirty trickster Roger Stone got in touch with me yesterday, sort of. He had a conduit call me to tell me that he was not, as I'd written, a "brown-noser." Stone said his blog post on the Stone Zone touting his partner Fort Lauderdale lawyer Scott Rothstein (scroll down after clicking) as Charlie Crist's choice for the next senator in Florida was meant as a jibe at George LeMieux and was supposed to be a joke not to be taken seriously. I have to admit I laughed pretty hard when I read it, but I don't think it would come across as a joke to the casual reader.
-- Madman Deerfield Beach blogger Chaz Stevens quits? Well, he says he is. Stevens developed a profane and wildly egotistical (he often refers to himself as "Chaz Stevens, Genius") persona, complete with a "ninja" sidekick. He sometimes veered wildly off course, but overall he was good for that city, keeping officials on their toes. This seems brought on by grief over serious health problems for his beloved dog, Scooter, and perhaps general frustration in effecting change in the city. Methinks he'll be back.
