Source: It's 'Bout to Get Worse for Noland

Categories: Broward, Politics
It's been a brutal week (year?) for Deerfield Beach Mayor Peggy Noland, but the weeks to come may bring a new rounds of bad publicity. According to a well-placed source at city hall, a city commissioner is likely to bring a motion at the August 18 meeting censuring Noland for her conduct in the punishment of Cassandra Moye, the worker who was suspended without pay after she didn't greet the mayor with enough deference. (By the time Moye's punishment was reduced to a written reprimand on Tuesday, the damage had already been done.)

And the Moye case may just be the tip of an iceberg. According to the source, more city workers will come forward to report intimidation and abuses of power by Noland.

Gosh, it's almost enough to make a guy nostalgic for the relative tranquility of the Al Capellini administration.
