On Twitter, Michael Beasley was "GorillaBeas"
Miami Heat forward Michael Beasley checked into a rehab facility in Houston over the weekend, just days after a photo of the number two overall draft pick with what may have been a bag of pot made waves on sports blogs across the country.

Beasley posted the photo to his Twitter page on August 19. The image centers on the basketball player's newest tattoo: the phrase SupercoolBeas inked across his back with a pair of red glasses dangling from the "S". On a table in the background, however, is a plastic bag with what looks like it could be pot.

News broke early Monday that Beasley checked into an unnamed 30-day rehab program, and by then his Twitter account (GorillaBeas) was closed. (And his father's account was made private.)

But a search of the cached pages shows a number of troubling (and exclamation-point laden) messages from the 20-year-old former Kansas State standout.

At 10:48 p.m. on August 18, the night before Beasley put up the photo, he wrote a mysterious note:

"1life 2live"

On the afternoon of August 21, from his phone, Beasley typed:

"Y do I feel like the whole world is against me!!!!!!! Back on my FTW!!!!! I can't win for losin!!!!!!!!!!"

(The other tweets, and the questionable photo, after the jump.)

The photo that started it all: an interesting tattoo and an interesting-looking baggy in the background.

Five hours after that message, Beasley sent this out, again from his phone:

"Feelin like it's not worth livin!!!!!!! I'm done"

Early reports are not specific on exactly when Beasley entered the Houston facility. Of course, he is already in the NBA's substance abuse program; at last year's rookie orientation, marijuana was found in a room he was in and Beasley was fined $50,000.

The last message he posted before his twitter account (which featured the image of Beasley's infant daughter as the background) was closed did not come from his phone, but rather from a computer. It's unclear at this point where he was when he sent it. The message said:

"not feelin this at all!!!!!"

As of late yesterday, neither the Miami Heat nor the NBA had commented.
