Thompson and Vogel are bringing some hardware back to West Broward

​By now, everybody knows about Alexis Thompson, the Coral Springs girl who at 14 is among the most promising female golfers in the game. To no one's surprise, she dominated this past weekend's Junior PGA Championship in Mainville, Ohio, winning by 12 strokes, just one off the tournament record.

But T.J. Vogel has a bit more mystery. The 18-year-old from Cooper City won the men's side of the Junior PGA in his last year of tournament eligibility.

And speaking of Broward-based sporting dominance, let's also credit Maya Pressley of Coconut Creek and Krystal Schade of Sunrise, who went 1-2 in the the women's high-jump competition at this past weekend's Pan-American Junior Track and Field Championships in Trinidad.
