The BSO news release tells of a 35-year-old woman named Frances Baker who was at her Northwest 7th Avenue apartment Thursday night with her 11-year-old daughter:
Baker had left the front door slightly open while she cooked. She asked her daughter to close the door, and as she attempted to do so, three men, wearing ski masks and dressed all in black, barged into the home. One man, who wore a shirt with the word "POLICE" across the front, put a gun to the girl's head and ordered her to the ground. Another held a gun to Baker and demanded money. Baker complied by handing over the few dollars she had in her wallet and the men fled. They were seen fleeing the scene in a newer model, black Chevy Impala.
All three men are described as wearing long sleeve, black shirts, long black pants, black Reeboks and black ski masks. Two of the men are said to about 6' tall and of medium build. One had a short afro; the other had medium length dreads. The third suspect is said to be heavy-set, about 5'10" tall and his black shirt had the word "POLICE" on it.
Anyone with information is asked to contact BSO Robbery Detective Tony Hierrezuelo at 954-321-4270 or Broward Crime Stoppers, anonymously, at 954-493-TIPS or www.browardcrimestoppers.org. A reward of up to $1,000 is available for information leading to an arrest.
