Jeffrey Willis, 41, is the name of the inmate who was found dead last week at the Broward Sheriff's Office main jail. On the right, his booking photo.

Here's the BSO release:

The Broward County Medical Examiner's Office will determine the cause and manner of death. Detectives have confirmed that the death was not a suicide.

Willis was arrested Wednesday, July 22 by the Fort Lauderdale Police Department and was transported to the Main Jail. He was charged with trespassing and resisting without violence. Willis was found unresponsive in his cell at 7:06 p.m. Thursday, July 23 by a BSO detention deputy. He had been the sole occupant of the cell.

Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue responded and began medical intervention, to no avail. Willis was transported to Broward General Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
