I find it amazing smart voters felt and feel their best available person in their disctrict to vote for the highly complex job of US Congress is a women whose only real life experience was being a teacher for a few years before running for office, yet she is our representative to guide our economy back to profitabilty and oversee the recovery of GM, AIG, Chrylser. If she was to submit her resume to the above mentioned companies she would not be qualified to hold any job higher the entry level management. Do you want your future held by the voice of inexperience when it comes to your future. Her claim to fame in the Florida Legislature was getting a law passed making it illegal to have dry cleaners charge more for womens clothes then mens. Instead of letting American capitalism take root vs socialism and allow a smart business owner operate a dry cleaner to capture the market by reducing prices on females clothes creating market competition which is how capitalism works. To say she is a prominent Democrat is not saying much when the party is led by Barney Frank who oversee's the banking commitee with no banking experience or Dodd who was a lawyer for less then 2 years before running for congress. We need to start voting for leaders with PROVEN experience. This job is not a populatity contest by a serious hiring decision.

• having been going to haiti since 2003 on many trips some almost one month...having been not a politician who is given what others want to represent to you..but having seen the country in many regions...and experienced many things first hand including governmental and juducial corruption............whoever made the statement about haiti 'getting out of its won way is correct'........... i had a dear friend call me and ask is haiti going to become an american stte - thats what some are saying there....some want it for accesss to the money...and there would be massive violent resistant to it.. their is a depp national haitian pride- even a destructive pride...they want what they want, how they want it and when they want it....they steal the money and do not use it for what its intended... corruption and rebellions and overthrows is HOW THEY LIVE.....even as their people are starving......eating mud pies MADE OF UNCLEAN DIRT OF THE GROUND....on their bellies they eat the dust...but they will not relent...even as they and their children return to dust...... bleeding heart throw money at them - will change nothing...and if they will not be accountable in a real way - they should get nothing the diaspora - americans of haitian desent and haiitan americas are despised treated ill and are refused to have input and say into the country of their forefathers...they are treated like outsiders.... For example, between 1946 and 2007, the United States doled out some: $170 billion US tax dollars to Israel as the largest recipient of American military and foreign aid. $1.3 billion US tax dollars to aid the starving people of Haiti. Why just this year alone, American taxpayers are shelling out another $3 billion to Israel � more than ten times the tax dollars they're sending to Haiti. This is mainly because Israeli Is blessed with the most powerful lobby in Washington. Which is how and why Haiti should be Jewish. As a Jewish state, it would immediately guarantee the impoverished nation millions of dollars worth of food and billions of dollars in direct economic aid. But don't take my word for ir. Consider, if you will the US aid to Israel versus Haiti since 1947 for things like: - US Aid for Internaitional Development: $2.3 billion for Haiti, $52.6 billion for Israel. - Refugee Assistance: $5 million for Haiti, $790 million for Israel. - Food: $1.2 billion for Haiti, $2 billion for Israel But best of all, Haiti would have a strong voice in Washington as a new Jewish state supported by millions of Born Again Christians and represented by the American Israel Political Action Committee � again, the most powerful lobby in the nation's capital. Not to be outdone by the Broward Congresswoman's grotesque abuse of the English language, Dade's own Congresswoman Lite Ileana Ros-Lehtinen cut to the chase when she noted: �There's a lot that we can do. There's a lot that we can do together. Haiti's problems must be paid attention to.� Oh yes. In fairness to their less than historic, one-day fact-finding mission to Haiti, the five members of the South Florida Congressional delegation managed to learn the beleagured island nation was still totally f*ucked as one of the most impoverished nations in the world. However, undaunted by Haiti's widespread disease and starvation, Dade Congressman Lincoln Diaz-Balart was moved to offer these ringing words of hope: �One of the ways in which they (the people of Haiti) are going to lift themselves up from poverty is with tourism.� Naturally, as a potential mecca for global tourism, Haiti will face stiff competition from other countries like Zimbabwe and Somalia as bargain get-away spots to watch people starve. In any event, Haiti's more than 9 million impoverished citizens should be forever grateful for the attention(and Sound Bites) they garned from the fearless five members of South Florida's Congressional Delegation.
