• I just told my 13-year-old son, who is a bigger football fan than me, the prospective name and he said, "Ewww. I don't like it." Part of me is starting to think this could be a publicity stunt. If so, it's a brilliant one.

• I've never had a Landshark, but anything is better than the Budweiser they serve there. It's a lousy, cheap swill that I always associated with beer alkys.

• Aren't most of the folks who go to the Dolphins games in Margarettaville by the time the game starts anyways? And with this robust economy, I would think the players would be glad they were playing anywhere for the type of salaries they command...I mean really, they could call it Plumbers' playground.....but I do like Candygram Field....

• Landshark Stadium!! Now there's a name that fits the team...and the brew's namesake. Overpriced, tasteless and little talent!!

• It will cost them two games??? WTF? I'm going out on a limb and guessing the players couldn't give two squirt of pee what the stadium they play in is called, especially on game day. It could be Kotex Field At Summer's Eve Stadium and it wouldn't cost them a PLAY, let alone a game. This may be the single dumbest blog entry I have seen in my life.

• Landshark is a much better name than the taxpayer subsidized "Big Sugar". In fact, I may have a beer right now.

• Too bad Tribune Co. is bankrupt and can't afford corporate sponsorships. I can see it now: "Sun Sentinel Stadium, Home of the Help Team."

• You may be right. As I was typing this up, I wondered if my initial reaction was the right one. I can see bumming around on some lazy outrageously bright Saturday and saying, "Let's go to the Landshark for a game." It may be so stupid that it'll be cool in some strange way. Maybe, but, at its heart, it will still be stupid, especially since no self-respecting dolphin would ever hang out with a shark. They hate the shit out of each other. On top of that, the term land shark also connotes womanizers and lawyers. How about "Skunk Ape Stadium"? Now there's a name I could get behind.

• Let's see Landshark Stadium or Fruit of the Loom Field? Or CitiCorp Stadium. Or Verizon Stadium? Or American Airlines Arena? Lighten up, pal. It's part of the South Florida landscape -- relax, have fun and pull out that colorful shirt. And if you think the name of a stadium will cost a team wins, you've been listening to paranoia champ Sean Hannity waaaay too long.
