Voters Done Pretty Good Tonight

Hey, no pending felons were elected by the voters. In South Florida, that's called progress. Let's run this mf-er down:

Davie: Tom Truex lost because Davie voters don't want developers to mess up the nature of the town with The Commons. I called Judy Paul as the winner two weeks ago based on a Truex quote in the newspaper. I think it's a good result and I hope The Commons goes down hard.

Deerfield Beach: The corrupt Al Capellini is officially done politically, but my work won't be done until he's in prison. Conventional wisdom was saying Peggy Noland had it in the bag, and she did. I believe Bill Ganz is a positive addition to the commission. Don't like the Militello loss; she seems truly conscientious. Don't know about Miller. Is he really an Eller tool?

Plantation: My hometown done good, too. I'm not a huge fan of Diane Veltri Bendekovich, but man, her opponent, Jim Davis, was a steaming slice of swine meat. Read this to get an idea. And Rico Petrocelli? Well, he had to go down didn't he? Not just the PAL thing but the paisan thing with Capellini. Pete Tingom was sort of the perfect step-in, too, a mild-mannered, do-gooding, long-time educator.

Fort Lauderdale: This was a weird one. It looks like Romney Rogers, who has allegedly been aided by God's mighty hand, and a former police chief (Bruce Roberts) take office. Whatever. Good to see Bobby DuBose take it over Pam Adams, a long-time Carlton crony.

I would say that, overall, this is the most intelligent voting I've ever seen in this place. It's sort of an eye-opening moment, like watching Koko the ape form her first sign. Hope we see more of it, instead of just the usual ass-scratching.
