O'Reilly Errand Boy Chases Bloggers Now

Amanda Terkel is the winner in the Blogger-Baiting-O'Reilly Sweepstakes, and she didn't even seem to try. The Think Progress blogger wrote this post after it was announced that Fox News idiot charmer Bill O'Reilly would be the guest speaker at a fundraiser in Manalapan for the It Happened to Alexa Foundation, which helps rape victims.
Terkel merely pointed out that O'Reilly was a curious and controversial choice, considering past remarks he's made about Jennifer Moore, the 18-year-old who was raped and murdered -- an outcome that O'Reilly blamed in part on the young woman's choice in clothing.
An O'Reilly camera crew caught Terkel this weekend while she was vacationing. Before the segment could air, she offered her version of the interview with Jesse Watters, the Fox News producer who plays Igor to O'Reilly's Dr. Frankenstein.
Watters, says Terkel, "told me that because I highlighted O'Reilly's comments, I was causing 'pain and suffering' to rape victims and their families. He of course offered no proof to back up this claim, instead choosing to shout questions at me."
It's very rude to do an ambush interview when you can just as easily set up a more formal interview. But what really bugs me is that O'Reilly's thugs could have found a much more deserving target for ambush, right here in South Florida. Juice writer Michael J. Mooney titled his post on the O'Reilly speech, thusly: "Will Bill O'Reilly Blame Rape Victims for Their Own Rapes at Palm Beach Event?" What do you need, Watters? A written invitation?
