Matt Damon for U.S. Senate: How D'Ya Like Them Apples?

Matt Damon.jpg
OK, they cook up some zany ideas over there at the Florida Progressive Coalition Blog, but this one takes the cake: To challenge the otherwise-inevitable Charlie Crist victory in the 2010 U.S. Senate race, blogger Mark Weaver is casting Miami Beach resident celebrity Matt Damon in the role of Democratic candidate.
He's smarter (Harvard) than Ronald Reagan and Arnold Schwarnegger (and to my knowledge does not have a naked picture published in a body building magazine with his body all oiled up) and has been involved in numerous humanitarian civic causes. He knows public policy. If potty mouth Al Franken (another pro-war Democrat unfortunately) can win in Minnesota .... I rest my case.
How long till Sarah Silverman's "I'm Fucking Matt Damon" becomes "I'm Voting Matt Damon"? And how great would a Matt Damon campaign ad look mashed up with a Bourne Identity trailer? Good idea? Or too much like a "really bad Disney movie"?
