• CB Smith Park needs major improvements and cleaning. It's our main park and it's dirty and needs grass and landscaping.

• How about money for another rehab program that has helped several holly lake residents to get new mobile homes?

• You think this is a joke? Pembroke Pines can't pay its own bills thanks to the spendocrats in Pines city government - all of them. What is the mayor's plan to stimulate the economy? Remember its supposed to be a economic stimulus/ jobs creation bill. Here's a few other items that weren't mentioned. * Construction of a restroom facility and sidewalks at Walter C. Pembroke Pines residents already are paying in increased taxes and fees why shouldn't the rest of the country pay the $217,000,000 Pines asked for also? When I asked him where the stimulus was, he replied to me,"All of the items you mention may not get done if we do not have the money. Just buying the product stimulates in my opinion." Ha, ha, Frank the joke's on the residents of Pembroke Pines.

• Relax, Sandy. I'm sure Mayor Ortis can take a joke. I just thought it was ironic that the world's leading newspaper saw fit to quote your mayor on its front page on the subject of... sewer pipes?

• New Times must be at a loss for "NEWS". Pembroke Pines has grown to the point that requires refuerbishing of it's infrastructure. What witty reply did you expect from Mayor Ortis?
