Wild Iguana Catchers/Eaters Welcome in Florida

If you like Lantau Island and are not in a rush in going to places as I understand from your other posts that you�ve been to the City many times, stay in the Silvermine Bay Hotel located in Silvermine Bay of Lantau. It has the cheapest rate in town, around US$50 per night, however there�s no road that connects to Silvermine Bay from the Airport. You�ve to take the shuttle bus or MTR to Central then catch a ferry from the Central Pier right outside IFC Building. The ferry trip takes about 20 minutes, a very nice ride if you like the sea and not in a rush.

• You can kill and eat chickens because they are NOT endangered species and I doubt we would run out of chickens anytime soon... You can kill and eat Iguanas if thats your preference... but NOT the endangered ones!

• Why is it that it is considered cruel and inhumane to kill and eat an iguana and it is perfectly normal to slaughter millions of chickens for food? The iguana poses more of a threat to diseases and the flora and fauna of Florida. It multiplies at an alarming rate and its bite can cause serious infections. To my mind, as long as it is killed and eaten there is nothing wrong.

• Report it right..to reiterate these Iguanas are an ENTIRELY different species of Iguana from the Florida ones. They are on the WORLDS (not just Bahamas')endangered species list. The offenders not only taunted, mutilated and ate the Iguanas as shown in their photos; they also poached undersized conch and illegally spear-gunned parrot and angel fish (which are not normally eaten)in a NATIONAL PARK! THEN they flaunted it on the internet by posting it on facebook. These are college educated people bashing about in another country, hurting its enviroment then bragging about it then acting like victims when caught. To minimize the impact of their actions is negligiable and damaging.Also there are about 100 different signs posted on the island stating these are an endangered species. Not to say people don't mess up every now and then but come on people be aware of your surroundings, especially if your traveling to a foreign land. Read up on their cultures and laws. Seriously no lie americans have the worlds WORST tourist behavior. Totally self-centered thinking everyone should change for them. Just stay in the US and travel around it there if you can't be accepting or appreciative of other cultures and countries. IGNORANCE IS NOT AN EXCUSE! I'm sure these kids didn't head out wishing to wreak havoc in another country but they did and they need to be aware of that and that there are consequences for their actions.

• i live in SW Fl and whenever I am in Palm Beach I see thes big-ass Anoles. They are not long, like the green Anoles, they are only as long as the Brown Anoles, only they weigh about ten times as much. We don't have them on the west coast. In fact I have only seen them on the island.

• You're mistaken is correct. The Green Iguana (Iguana iguana) is widespread in Central and South America, and is an invasive species in Florida, where they are not protected. The rock iguana captured and eaten in the Bahamas, Cyclura cychlura, is an endangered species fully protected by Bahamian and International law.

• Are we so desperate for tourist dollars that we'd invite jerks like this to visit Florida?

• you might also like to mention they were in a marine sanctuary and slaugthered tame wildlife, took infantile conch, ggrouper and killed a beautiful parrot fish, for sport. 'with spear guns in a marine sanctuary.,

• You do realize that these are two different species, right? The rock iguana is also protected in Florida. It's the other type, the green one, that isn't. But don't let the facts get in the way.
