The Swimsuit Competition: Tampa Bay Loses

Quit flaunting your chin, harlot. You're in Greater Tampa.

Let's not get too demoralized over the national media ridiculing our corruption, which is rampant, pervasive, ubiquitous and all-encompassing. It could be worse. We could be in Pinellas County, where county officials are scrambling to cover the naughty bits of beachgoers, lest the region's tourists be scandalized.

The article quotes a park supervisor who objects to the way some sunbathers employ hosery:
There are men, he said, who will sport an athletic sock that's held up with fishing line. The look reveals the pubic area and buttocks, but the sock covers the genitals.
Are we positive that this guy wasn't supervising a Red Hot Chili Peppers show? Ken Kushman, of the Tampa Area Naturists, who's 62 (Why did you just wince?), is fighting the legislation. And it is bizarrely fetishistic.

Specifically, the new rules would ban exposure of that area of the buttocks where the cheeks slope inward, the cleft region. And Kushman said he's concerned that men and women without model bodies will be unfairly targeted.

Meanwhile, the danger in South Florida is that in an effort to boost tourism women with model bodies will be required to wear suits exposing the same area of the buttocks.

As I have read this article, I think that it is right that the swimsuit competition is stop. Due to the people who wear in appropriate swimming attire which is really disgusting.

Once the 75% submerged, the woman can climb down the stairs of the machine, and have some naval exercise - yes, that's right ankle was not a glimpse. She is still very modest.

Obviously Pinellas County doesn't know the effects that their attitudes have on young people. Or perhaps they do and they like having some of the worst rates for teenage pregnancy and abortion in the Western World.

Positive attitudes towards the human body promote positive outcomes. If they want the same rates as say Denmark or the Netherlands then they need to adopt the same attitudes towards the human body. Sensible, rational ones based on fact instead of prejudice.

Anyone who doubts the harm that prudery does should be required to stand in front of ten pregnant teenagers and explain why it is that in liberal countries nine of them would not be pregnant. Yes, that is not a mistake, the teen pregnancy rate in the USA really is ten times worse.

A good illustration of the difference in attitudes is the law on clothing. In Denmark it is a LEGAL RIGHT right to go nude on ANY beach. In The Netherlands there is a nudist beach every five miles or so and nobody is much fussed anywhere else.

This makes Pinellas County Commission look stupid and backward, which it is.

The park managers original justification for this was a few complaints made by anonymous tourists to the park rangers. They want to curtail the local people who wear thong swimsuits to make a few tourists happy.

The proposed new rules apply to the beaches in the county parks, the most predominant of which is Fort De Soto park. Fort De Soto park has 7 miles of beaches, so if you don't like the view of a young women in a thong people have plenty of space to go somewhere else.

There are already miles of coastal beaches in Pinellas county that ban thongs, in places like the city of Clearwater, so it's not like people who don't like thongs don't have someplace to go.

It seems silly to have park rangers inspecting the bottoms of young women to make sure their bikinis are wide enough in the rear.

While I want to volunteer for that job it seems to be a waist of county time and resources to have park rangers inspecting peoples bottoms, especially at a time when the parks are crying about being short of both.

Another example of the Christian Taliban attempting to tell other people how to dress.

This ain't Kansas, it's Florida! Of which the best part is the free Sun, Beaches and Girls in thong swimsuits.
