Arrrh! Band of Alleged Pirates Lose Booty to Cops

On a day people in other parts of the world were paying ransom to pirates, the Fort Lauderdale Police Department was cold bustin' em. Just ask 20-year-old Latesha Raines, of Miami, and 37-year-old Alora Berrian, of Lauderhill, who were arrested yesterday by FLPD at at a house allegedly stocked with more than $100,000 in counterfeit CDs and DVDs, including albums by Kanye West and Trina, plus a DVD of Will Smith's Seven Pounds.

Even if the women make bail, it looks like they are out of business, as the police seized the ladies' seven CD-burning towers and 2003 Hummer, which is maybe the modern version of the pirate ship. Allegedly, the ladies were banking about $500 to $1,000 a day from the racket.
