Just A Couple Good Reads

This morning the Miami Herald has at least two offbeat stories worth reading, one on the death (and life) of an erudite Tobacco Road character named Conrad Wayne Lamm who "looked like a cross between Burl Ives and Truman Capote and sounded like a character penned by Tennessee Williams (who also, incidentally, died at the age of 71).

Another is Adam H. Beasley's piece on an inheritance (from Aunt Pearl, no less) of $50,000 awaiting a homeless vagrant who is such an SOB that he once charged his own brother $1,000 to take a test to see if he was was a match for a bone marrow transplant. So whoever finds him and leads him to the money shouldn't feel bad about taking a 50 percent fee for their services.
