Newsflash: Football Player Says Something Stupid

Slow news day. They're going to try to fire Frank Till, they're looking for clues in the horrible murder of that family of four (John Lantigua tells us it looks like a -- surprise -- drug hit), two guys named Shaw and Klein are trying to win two years in an office in D.C., and we're waiting for the discovery in the Wasserstrom case.

So I'm gonna talk about former UM and Miami Dolphin wide receiver Lamar Thomas. Now he's a TV analyst for Comcast Sports Southest and the Associated Press' Tim Reynolds is reporting that he might be fired was fired for what he said during the idiotic brawl during the UM-FIU football game. As the brawl "raged out of control," Thomas said:

"Now, that's what I'm talking about. You come into our house, you should get your behind kicked. You don't come into the OB playing that stuff. You're across the ocean over there. You're across the city. You can't come over to our place talking noise like that. You'll get your butt beat. I was about to go down the elevator to get in that thing.''

He wasn't finished. Thomas then

said: "I say, why don't they just meet outside in the tunnel after the ball game and get it on some more? You don't come into the OB, baby. We've had a down couple years but you don't come in here talking smack. Not in our house.''

I think Lamar speaks for himself there, so I'll only add that that's just about what you would expect to get when you hire a guy with a history of beating up on his wife (see here a long list of crimes connected to Dolphins). Who are they going to hire to replace him, Cecil Collins? Nah, he's still in prison for breaking into a woman's house in Weston after football practice. But I'm pretty sure Lawrence Phillips is looking for work.
