Better than: partying like a preteen

Music events at Boca Raton’s Mizner Park are always surreal, with all those MILFs and Lolitas milling about. But last night, Tempe, Arizona rockers the Maine actually gave shout-outs to both segments.

After singer John O’Callaghan marveled out loud at the number of “hot” girls in the crowd, bassist Garrett Nickelsen couldn’t help but chime in with a nod to all the hot moms, too. “I want to see the moms! Raise your hands!” At least a dozen sexy Boca moms obliged. O’Callaghan thanked the moms for bringing their “hot” daughters. But he quickly added that, at 19, he’s too old for those cute preteen gals flitting about in daisy dukes.

All those little ladies were there to see Metro Station, anyway, the second act of the evening. They've captured the Hannah Montana rage crowd over the last two years because the group's lead singer, Trace Cyrus is Miley Cyrus’ half-brother. The group’s other lead vocalist, Mason Musso, has a younger sibling on the Hannah Montana show, too.

At Mizner, though, Cyrus looked more like Amy Winehouse’s kin. The stringy, pale, tattooed young man bared his bony chest all evening and seemed to hardly sing at all. The little ladies were swooning anyway though. Here’s an excerpt of an actual conversation between two 11-year-olds:
“I was up front by the stage the whole time!”
“Did he [Trace Cyrus] touch you?”
“No.”
“You should have reached higher!”
