Whether you're single or taken, you'll spend a considerable amount of cash for the infamous pink and red holiday, whether it's to buy liquor to drown your sorrows or splurge on your significant other. With their recent underwater video for "Sink or Swim," Fort Lauderdale indie quartet -kids- proved that it doesn't even need to feel gravity to jam hard. The bearded act has a powerful synergy that is palpable, even while its furry faces are submerged in a pool. With their newly released EP, Sink or Swim, expect a honest approach to music and lyrics. Theirs is a subtle rebellion against radio pop and an attempt to keep music honest.

*Miami-based live hip-hop act Mayday! also plays a rare-ish show north of the Miami-Dade County line tonight, also before soon leaving on super-extensive tour. The group hits up the Speakeasy Lounge tonight supported by Audioplayground and Dub Recon. It's all part of an 18-and-up party called Bass Face, and admission is $10. Click here.

*Local rockabilly king Slip is usually seen around town leading his own band, the Spinouts.
