PrunkTV: Totally Guitarded, Floor, and Maybach Music Events All Coming Up

Categories: PrunkTV

"You like to eat girls out who just peed...wtf?"

It seems like just yesterday that I was at Uncle Luke's house talking about Rick Ross being a former C.O. Man, time flies. And to think that Mr. Campbell now has a weekly column on this very website. Last week he said, "I am usually at clubs like LIV, rapping about the birds and the bees for white people. I don't go to places where I am going to need a gun." Hey Luke, ever heard about what happened to Dimebag Darrell? White people do bring guns to clubs, bars, schools, etc... and white people do shoot. Does the word Columbine ring a bell?

I ran into Gordi at Churchill's last night, who informed me of this awesome new event that he is involved with: Taco Farts presents Totally Guitarded. The name is enough to make you wanna pop some percs and attend. It's at Bar (formerly PS14) on April 7 and includes DJs John Vale, Sex Offender, Gordi, and others. You know you wanna go.

PrunkTV: Rocky Love

Categories: PrunkTV

I saw Rocky Love in the parking lot across the street from Churchill's about an hour and a half ago (it is 3:30 a.m. as I write this), and I promised him that I'd put this video up on Miami New Times, so here it is Rocky.

I am a man of my word. A man has nothing but his word...and his balls. Most people have gone to that gas station across the street from Churchill's at one time or another to purchase quarts of beer, snacks, gas, or cigarettes, ya know? Maybe you have seen Rocky Love at 2 in the morning with that old school steering wheel Back to the Future bicycle, and attached boom-box blaring some Hot 105 shit. Well, he has put out a new CD entitled, Bust A Nut. Oh, and there's that guy thats always selling watches. Love you! Miami is my baby!

PrunkTV: We Are Sexual Perverts

Categories: PrunkTV

There is so much awesome shit going on in Miami at the moment, you just gotta love it mang.

Thank you God, for making this the city of my birth! Speaking of God, there is this awesome new local sludge-band called Consular, and they sound kinda like Eyehategod. They are playing at a benefit show for a new D.I.Y. venue (1388 SW Eighth Street, Miami) this Friday with: Estorbo Social, Ass Piss, and others. Click here for more info. Tonight at Churchill's, local performance artist Cathleen Chambless will read some of her angst filled poetry around 11, and I will be in the front row. Speaking of Churchill's, in the video above, Nestor of OPS/ Destroyio Records talks about the historic venue, and reminds us that punk rock is still kicking in da 305.

PrunkTV: Ana Free, Roofless Records, Kevin Warhaft, and Women in Bikinis

Categories: PrunkTV

There are many people in this world that know me as "Azar." This includes Matt, who runs Roofless Records and works at Sweat Records. And Shawn, who plays bass for The Heartstrings.

Sweat Records is a blessing. I stopped by the record store/art gallery/ venue/ cultural hub last night to install my artwork for Cremator 305 (this Friday!), and got to see the following awesome bands performing live: The Hearstrings, The Beings, and St. Dad (from Gainesville). As I watched The Heartstrings, I realized that I had met the bass player (Shawn) back in 2005 when I was living in Gainesville, recording the Ghost of Dirty demo, and eating food out of garbage cans. But that was last night.

Prunk TV: International Noise Conference, Gustavo Matamoros, and a Fish Tank

Categories: PrunkTV

Sometimes, when I am feeling suicidal, I go to Sweat Records and stare at the fish tank.

I once read some Harvard study where they hypothesized that watching fish in a fish tank lowers you blood pressure. I think that it's true. Plus, Sweat Records has some awesome magazines, books, and really good coffee. Their couches are comfy, and there is always something cool going on there. BTW, that is my brother Adam at the end of the above video clip. He is one of the funniest people that I know.

Prunk TV: Lil Wayne Gets Locked Up Today, Cash Money Relocating to New York

Categories: PrunkTV

Life is a fucked up game. You're winning Grammys, performing at sold -out arenas around the world, smoking blunts all day, wearing a million-dollar watch, and living on your own planet one minute. Next thing you know, you're arrested, then sentenced, and floating down shit's creek without a paddle. Weezy is going to spend some time on Rikers, before they send him upstate to prison for his eight-to-12 month sentence.

The whole Cash Money family is relocating to New York, because Birdman aka "Daddy" plans on visiting his "son" at least once a week. Miami will miss Cash Money. I am lucky to say that I spent some time in the studio with them, watching and learning. Whenever Wayne came in, I was asked to put my camera away, and I always respected that. Just watching him in the studio was incredible. Check out the above video, and see what his sound engineers do all night. We are lucky to be alive while an artist like Lil Wayne is here. I encourage everyone reading this to send Lil Wayne letters while he is locked up. Don't forget the best rapper alive. See ya.

"Any musician certainly can come in with their own sound system."

Why does 2010 feel so awesome? Time is flying by like a space shuttle. I keep getting into these long "chats" on Facebook with people that I haven't seen or heard from in almost 20 years...

Prunk TV: Blowfly at the Monterey Club

Categories: PrunkTV

Quitters never win, and winners never quit. Btw, should I fuck that big fat ho?

The first time I ever heard of Blowfly was when ODB did that cover of, "The First Time, Ever You Sucked My Dick." Blowfly is awesome, he invented rap music in 1965, and he is a Miami legend. I wish him the best, especially with that upcoming performance in Australia. But we'll get to that in a minute. The first time I heard about the Jacuzzi Boys was an Iggy Pop interview on Urban Outfitter website. That being said...if Jacuzzi Boys were around 20 years ago in Seattle they would have been signed to Sub Pop and gone on to become a multi-platinum Grammy award winning Grunge super group. Your mom would have their vinyl records in the garage next to her Alice in Chains and Soundgarden records...but those days are dead and gone (Jacuzzi Boys did put out a vinyl 7 inch. Fuck yeah).

Speaking of vinyl, while in Ft. Lauderdale, I stopped at Radioactive Records. The place is amazing. You need to stop by, if only to see the picture of Barry Manillow in the toilet. Ft. Lauderdale is pretty cool. Lester's 24 Hour Diner is a good place to get some really strong coffee at 4am (with free refills), and Bimini Bay is a cool place to meet drunk German tourists trying to find prostitutes.

PrunkTV: Green Music of Thailand

Categories: PrunkTV

New Year's resolution: Somehow get a MacBook to edit videos better.

Last week, PrunkTV was in the studio with Cash Money Heroes. This week, we are getting acupuncture and listening to a different type of music. It is called Green Music of Thailand, and it is perfect for this frantic time of the year. Music is not just in bars, clubs, and concert venues; but also in our cars, in the elevators, on our iPods, in the doctor's office, restaurants -- music is everywhere.

I needed help dear readers. My thoughts were driving me crazy, they were negative and preventing me from welcoming 2010 with open arms. It was like these thoughts were playing ping pong in my brain. I needed something positive! The Universe led me to the offices of Haas Acupuncture, where that good Green Music of Thailand soothed my soul as the needles pierced my skin (please see above video). Good needles, with ancient healing powers. Anyway, Dr. Haas stuck them into my arms, legs, hands, head.. and I got high. But again, it was acupuncture: hexagrams, I Ching, chakras, creating a natural and healthy stimulant for my body and mind. But that Green Music of Thailand was the best part of it all.
