Summer Soundtrack Comes to a Sweaty and Satisfying End (Video)
The sneaky shows -- four in total -- took place every Thursday in August, everywhere from rooftops to warehouses. The fourth and final show was set up in Exposed PR's courtyard. Phil Barnes opened the show, singing a mix of originals and covers. Then the Nashville-based Forlorn Strangers took the stage, stomping and clapping their way through a soothing set that had everyone giving a big middle finger to the heat and dancing by the last song.
The night wrapped up what was clearly a victory for local music. With Florida summers being notorious for their lack of activity, Summer Soundtrack provided some much needed entertainment, and gave some much-deserved exposure to a lot of local talent like -kids-, the Goddamn Hustle, Corey James Bost, and Carly Jo Jackson.
But if you're sitting at your computer all sad and stuff because you missed it, don't worry. All the above mentioned bands will be playing tonight at C&I Studios at 7 p.m.. And if you can't make that show, well, then maybe it's time to worry.
