Believe it or not, there's more to do this weekend than drink green beer and pretend to be Irish -- though there's certainly nothing wrong with that.

Thursday, March 14Ladies Night with Making Faces and Rude Hecklers8 p.m. March 14 @ Propaganda, 6 S. J St. in Lake Worth. $5. Visit propagandalw.com.
Making Faces is a band concerned with "feeling good, having fun, and rocking your socks off" -- at least according to social networking sites. Although the wording is blasé, the description seems accurate. The West Palm Beach four-piece delivers clean, lively, reggae-tinted alt-rock sprinkled with covers of Sublime, Jimi Hendrix, and Jack Johnson. Their lyrics mine the territory you'd expect too. See them performing live with Rude Hecklers this Thursday at Propaganda. -- By Reyan Ali
8 p.m. March 14 @ Cinema Paradiso, 503 SE Sixth St. in Fort Lauderdale. $10 for general admission, $8 for seniors and students, and $6 for FLIFF members. 954-525-3456, or visit fliff.com. Watch Le magasin des suicides, or, in English, The Suicide Shop. With a name like that, you wouldn't expect it to be a critically acclaimed, 79-minute animated musical about a happy child born into a family driven by the suicide-prone atmosphere that encompasses this version of France in the mid-1800s. Believe it or not, this is a comedy -- well, a dark comedy. - Tana Velen
