Gunplay is off da hook.
Sometimes you end up in the wrong place, at the wrong time, with the wrong people. And subsequently arrested, tried, and sent up the river for being a shmuck who couldn't prove they were innocent even though they were.

Other times, criminals get away with shit in broad daylight. This is usually due to a technicality.

When it comes to Def Jam and Maybach Music Group recording artist (and Carol City native) Gunplay (a.k.a. Richard Morales Jr.) and his recent assault charges, it seems like the Teflon Don padawan is all about door number two.

Even though the court has footage of the MC whipping out a gun on his accountant (see above), Gunplay is a free man, all due to a sloppy litigation loophole.

TMZ reported that the Miami-Dade State Attorney's office explained the case as follows:

"Video alone is not enough to convict an individual of a crime beyond a reasonable doubt." The office continues, "Although the armed robbery is captured on the victim's surveillance system, the victim, Turron Woodside, is uncooperative of the prosecution of this defendant Richard Morales [Gunplay]."

Officials say they need Woodside to authenticate the footage so they can use it as evidence against Gunplay, who was accused of pulling a gun on Woodside and stealing a cell phone and gold chain during the incident last fall.

Upon being released, Morales vowed to engage illegal activity ASAP, pledging that "the first thing" he was "going to do [was] smoke a joint," followed by relaxing with his family.
