Terrence Howard once said, "It's hard out here for a pimp." Ask a pimp, he'll verify this fact.

But, it's even harder for a Mississippi rapper, carrying the weight of a region on his back. The South has its fingers crossed for Big K.R.I.T. It's hoping he's the savior of an original hip-hop sound and presence that has almost entirely disappeared since Outkast's 2003 double-album, Speakerboxx/Love Below and before Luda cut his hair.

With material that carries as much emotion as 10 Chicken Soup For The Soul books, and pimp game and bravado that would make Dolomite blush, K.R.I.T. is a star still on the rise. He's worked not only as a rapper, but as a producer with acts such as T.I., Ludacris, and even B.B. King, while still keeping it underground with Curren$y, Yelawolf, and Bulu.

And almost a year since K.R.I.T. touched down in Fort Lauderdale for his performance at Revolution, armed with material from three critically acclaimed mixtapes, K.R.I.T. returns tomorrow night with two more projects under his belt, 4evaNaDay and his major label debut, Live From The Underground.

K.R.I.T. will be joined by Cassie Veggies, who recently signed with Roc Nation Management, Big SANT, and Tito Lopez. 10 p.m. on Aug. 11 at Revolution Live, 100 SW Third Ave., Fort Lauderdale. Tickets cost $26.80. Visit jointherevolution.net.
