Beach Day Signed to Williamsburg's Kanine Records

Word hit the web via Brooklyn Vegan yesterday that Hollywood trio Beach Day has been signed to Williamsburg's Kanine Records. The New York indie label also represents Grizzly Bear, Chairlift, and local sonic heroes Surfer Blood. We first heard the band live when it opened with Lil Daggers for Black Lips at Grand Central during the Winter Music Conference. Read the interview here. Kimmy, Nat, and Skyler are youthful scene veterans, having played around these parts in a band called the Black Rabbits before coming together as Beach Day. These roommates have found a sort of winning formula that has the public's ears perked.
The band is hitting the gritty yet microbrew-bar, fancy-pizza-restaurant-lined streets of Williamsburg to perform alongside Eternal Summers, Class Actress, and Bleeding Rainbow for the label's Northside Festival showcase at Knitting Factory on June 14. It'll also be playing at Pianos in the Lower East Side the day before. In the three's newest incarnation, they've got a garage doo-wop sound that'll likely charm the pants off of the bebooted Brooklyners.
