Green Room has had a packed schedule for quite some time now. Tonight, website South Florida Music Obsessed and online station Jolt Radio are joining forces at the venue for Local Shindig, a night where they'll present two big sounds in SoFla's music scene: The Mirrors and Radioboxer.

These two Miami bands were chosen to offer a Broward crowd exposure to their talents. South Florida Music Obsessed's Lauren Perlstein pointed out, "We wanted to show Fort Lauderdale what they have been missing." (After the jump, you can taste a preview.)

"A dirty sound for a dirty mind" is how Anthony Fernandez vocalist and Broward resident from the Mirrors describes their music. This is their first Fort Lauderdale show; normally they play Churchill's or the Stage. He admits that his favorite thing about playing music is "the girls," adding, "Sometimes you have an emotion, and you can express that through the music."
The bands are definitely two that are growing in popularity, "One of my favorite things about seeing Radioboxer live is that you never know what to expect. The last time I saw them, it included fake blood, pillow fights, feathers, and lawn blowers," Perlstein says. "The Mirrors have an awesome blend of blues, punk, and indie riffs. It's going to be an awesome night of rock 'n' roll, and who doesn't love a free show?" For the record, we love a free show.

Jolt Radio and South Florida Music Obsessed share a similar goal, Perlstein says. "We want to promote the local music scene. Early on, we decided to collaborate, and by joining forces, we can tackle South Florida more efficiently than on our own. With live interviews on Jolt Radio and weekly local spotlights on SFMO, we want the community to know how talented our local musicians are." And from the local music scene, we're sure a collective "thank you" is in order.

The show takes place tonight, March 29, at 10 p.m. at Green Room, 109 SW Second Ave., Fort Lauderdale. It's 21 and over and free.
