Keep the Weekend Going With New "Skillet Sundays" at the Bubble
One step toward this is the new "Skillet Sundays," a monthly event launching this, uh, Sunday at the Bubble. It's a joint project between those folks and DJs Mig and Andie Sweetswirl, otherwise known as the creative brains behind Green Room. If the party name conjures up thoughts of a pleasantly greasy, alcohol-sopping brunch, it's not just a tease -- this party feeds you, if you show up between 2 and 4 p.m. Then, $15 gets you access to an unlimited brunch buffet catered by Bubble buddy Frank that includes veg-friendly options and unlimited drinks.
Show up later and you can still pretend to be socially acceptably day drinking by swilling unlimited mimosas, and, screw it, beer, with a $10 cover charge. Mig and Andie spin throughout the evening, Broward punk lifers the Shakers play a live set, and as it's the Bubble, you can expect some sort of art show too.
Please don't even dare complain about the cover charge. The few bucks goes to keeping the Bubble open, and Fort Lauderdale needs the Bubble. Thankyouverymuch.
"Skillet Sundays." 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday, January 29. The Bubble, 810 NE Fourth Ave., Fort Lauderdale. Admission is $15 for brunch hours, $10 after. Age 21 and up. Click here.
