Radio-Active Records Moving to Federal Highway

Come November, this is what Radio-Active Records will look like.

Radio-Active Records is exiting the Gateway Shopping Plaza on Sunrise for a prime spot on Federal Highway in November. A grand opening party for the 845 N. Federal Highway location is scheduled to follow on Saturday, November 5.

According to Operations Manager Mikey Ramirez, this move has been in development for a long time. "We've been talking about this for a year," he says. "We visited multiple properties around the area. This one was on a whim after we noticed a 'For Rent' sign."

The move to a visible stretch of Federal Highway just south of Sunrise in the heart of Fort Lauderdale comes after a decade at the Gateway Shopping Plaza, and another five or six years in Pompano.

Ramirez notes that the new location will have performance space where bands can play, room for some screen-printing, beverages are in the works, and that it's only a couple block walk from Laser Wolf.

For immediate release: Radio-Active Records, formerly of the Gateway Shopping Center on East Sunrise Boulevard, is pleased and excited to announce the site for their new location: 845 North Federal Highway in Fort Lauderdale. With its right-on-Federal-location, the new 845 site provides Radio-Active greater visibility and accessibility from north and south bound traffic & allows us to maximize our inventory and merchandising.

We are also pleased to announce that Radio-Active Records has been accepted into the Alliance of Independent Music Stores (AIMS) program. This organization allows us to expand our business further by showcasing a multitude of new and veteran artists through in-store events, listening parties, giveaways and more. Radio-Active Records will now have a touch-screen listening station where records, cds & dvds can be previewed by simply scanning a bar code.

We look forward to seeing you at our new location which is slated to open in 3 weeks. An announcement will be made in the next week regarding our grand opening party.
