Forward Motion Records Celebrates First Year With Charity Benefit

The masterful and sometimes mouthy Fernando Perdomo just informed County Grind that his Miami-based label, Forward Motion Records, is turning 1. And in celebration of the momentous occasion, the label and its roster is putting on a benefit show in Fort Lauderdale at Revolution on Thursday, September 29.

With 16 artists part of South Florida's "singer/songwriter movement," the performance should be a sprawling showcase of local talent with Perdomo's own Dreaming in Stereo (but probably not his noise-rock band), Grammy winner Jorge Moreno, and an all-star house band for the duration. Proceeds from the concert are earmarked for Kristi House, a local charity assisting child victims of sexual abuse and their families, and the event is meant to bring awareness to local nonprofit Musicians on Call.
