Pixies Announce "Lost Cities" Tour With Surfer Blood

Not long ago, the tightest connection between the Pixies and Surfer Blood was the West Palm Beach band's spot-on cover of "Gigantic."

Now, apparently that little overture and some joint dates in Canada earlier this year were well-received. The Pixies just announced a lengthy "Lost Cities" U.S. tour and have decided to bring their admirers along for the first 13 dates.

The premise of this Pixies outing is to play in "cities we've never visited across the US of A" and to play landmark album Doolittle in its entirety.

Unfortunately, that does not include anything in South Florida yet, based upon the initial route outlined on the Pixies' site. (We can guarantee the Pixies have never played in Margate.) The last six dates of the tour feature Imaginary Cities as support.

Tickets go public on July 15, but there will be a presale for the band's email list later this week.
