Mötley Crüe, New York Dolls, and Poison's Most Draglicious Videos
|Rogue Against the Machine|
When Poison graced the cover of their 1986 debut, Look What the Cat Dragged In, all dolled up like the strippers they snorted coke off of, it was pretty shocking. In the '70s, the Dolls dressed up like hotter versions of the ladies they'd shoot Chinese rocks with -- but, it was hard to find a Dolls record at Kmarts and other fine retailers.
The Dolls albums did get into the hands of a young C.C. DeVille and a young Nikki Sixx. We can imagine them going to bed every night with headphones on, blasting "Personality Crisis" and dreaming of starting a glamorous hard-rocking band of their own one day.
On the flipside, it is nice that the Crüe (celebrating its 30th anniversary) and Poison (celebrating its 25th) would bring the Godfathers of Glam (40th anniversary, no celebration) on the road. If you go to the show and you don't know who the Dolls are, try not to think about how the singer looks like the guy from Scrooged or Buster Poindexter of "Feelin' Hot" fame. He is that guy. But more important, he is the one of the first guys to get chicks by dressing like chicks and rocking like a man.
Here are the sexiest, draggiest videos we could find by each band.
New York Dolls "Jet Boy"
They are so hot here, you almost want them to steal your girlfriend from you, so you can watch them make out.
Mötley Crüe "Wild Side"
The only difference between the Crüe and their backstage dancers is, the band is showing more skin.
Poison "Talk Dirty to Me"
