Not long after Katy Perry's weekend performance at the BankAtlantic Center, she unveiled "Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)." The clip stars her alter ego, Kathy Beth Terry, a geeky teenager who drinks and has a kick-ass body underneath all the dork. I had hoped that Kathy T. would make an appearance at the show. After all, David Bowie's Ziggy Stardust and Beyoncé's Sasha Fierce both took the stage, and Perry did tweet: "Sasha Fierce is to Beyoncé as @kathybethterry is to me. Yes my alter ego has been borned. #followher" on June 7.

But Kathy Beth Terry did not make an appearance on Saturday, which is too bad. I'm probably not the only one who wants to watch Perry perform in headgear, braces, and a mustache.

Nothing would be better than watching a pop princess embody a goofy teenager who can belt out amazing notes while stumbling all over the place  -- because the stage is already too distracting with bubbles, fireworks, laser lights, and water guns. Perry's an incredible showwoman -- she's here to party, and that's how she sings to her fans -- but she's not known for her dancing. Instead she's remembered for the over-the-top bright-blue wig, the white sequin dress with spinning red peppermint wheels, the shiny-silver "Hershey's Kisses" two-piece swimsuit that has the white strings streaming out of the "nipples." To put a snake around her shoulders, so she can dance seductively with it, would not be her.

Kathy Beth Terry did get a shoutout, though. For her cover of Jay-Z's "Big Pimpin'," after rapping a few lines quite well, Perry began to play the flute. She faux-messed up the melody, then openly admitted that she can't play the flute -- and then remarked: "That was such a Kathy Beth Terry."

Perry currently only embodies Kathy T. for Twitter, Facebook, and this music video, which showcases stars such as Corey Feldman, Hanson, Debbie Gibson, Kevin McHale, and Kenny G, during Saturday's performance photos of ordinary kids flashed on the screens. No denying that the song, which Perry herself calls a "slut jam," is very catchy.

Katy Perry was Katy Perry when she performed "Last Friday Night" at BankAtlantic, and Katy Perry was Katy Perry when she performed an acoustic version of Rebecca Black's "Friday" as well, introducing the song by saying: "Moms and dads, listen, you may not get this next song, but just go with it." Black appears in "Last Friday Night" as a trusted friend who helps transform Kathy Beth Terry into the "hot girl" at the party -- which begs the question: Does Katy Perry's alter ego have an alter ego? And if Katy Perry's alter ego does have an alter ego, that alter ego is Katy Perry.
