Langerado Festival Lineup 2011 Rumor Mill: Five Unlikely Bands We Hope Will Join

newlangeradologo.jpg
Remember Langerado? That little music festival that could suddenly decided it couldn't anymore after announcing its more-eclectic-than-ever lineup back in 2009 and called it quits. Well, now after a two-year hiatus, it's back. But you knew that already.

Rumors have been swirling regarding the 2011 lineup, but JamBase has confirmed one band that will be performing (probably) for sure: Friendly Fires.

We put our thinking caps on and decided to put together some music math to figure out four additional (hopefully not unlikely) bands that may join Friendly Fires on October 8 and 9. Check them out after the jump.

Radiohead
Yeah, yeah, we know. Radiohead is totally a big deal. But so is Snoop Dogg (who was slated to perform in 2009 before the festival got canceled). And Radiohead did just release a new album (King of Limbs). They love the little guys, so here's hoping they love them some Florida too.

Stephen Malkmus and the Jicks with surprise guest Beck
Stephen Malkmus and the Jicks are releasing their new, Beck-produced digital album (Mirror Traffic) on August 23. We can't think of a better way to celebrate a stellar artist collaboration than with a bunch of kids who grew up in the '90s loving their music.

CSS

There's always been some kind of dance factor at Langerado in the past. But with CSS missing its shot at performing with Sleigh Bells in Miami during a recent tour (because it was under contract with Ultra), we can't think of a better way for the band to come back. And hey, its new album is being released late August, so it'll probably be itching to tour again anyway.

Bon Iver

To add to the eclectic mix thus far, we picture some Bon Iver-bred folk being perfect for the Langerado crowd. The first single off of its new, not-yet-released album (Bon Iver, Bon Iver) has been getting some blog love. And you know what happens to bands when they've made it big via Pitchfork? Well, they come to South Florida, that's what.

Tyler, the Creator/OFWGKTA

We definitely think there will be some hip-hop at Langerado too. And with all the crazy press Tyler, the Creator has been getting, we don't know. It just fits. We can't really guess whether Tyler, the Creator will be coming solo or with his Odd Future crew, but they'd definitely be a welcome addition to the lineup.

Langerado Music Festival, October 8 and 9 at Markham Park. 16001 W. State Road 84 in Sunrise. The official lineup will be released June 1. Two-day tickets go on sale for $150 on June 1 via Langerado.com.
