2nd Annual Walk-a-Thon honors Celia Cruz this Saturday
This Saturday is the Second Annual Lourdes P. Aguila Memorial Walk-a-Thon honoring La Reina de la Salsa herself, Celia Cruz. The event is being hosted by La Liga Contra el Cancer and will take place at Tropical Park, where community leaders and celebrity residents of our fair city will turn out to support this worthy cause. Participants will include Willy Chirino, Albita, Oscar D'Leon and Tito Puente Jr.
Registration begins at 7:30am, with a presentation at 8:30,and the walk commences at 9. Do a good deed. It's Lent and all, and you guys know you can use a few brownie points. I saw you out last weekend. I know what you were up to. You need all the karmic goodness you can get your grubby little hands on. So sign up for the Walk-a-Thon, help a good cause, and smile at the certainty that Celia approves of your efforts in the afterlife with her signature, "AZUCAR!"
