Casiotone for the Painfully Alone to Kick Off NADA Art Fair

With Art Basel only three weeks away, there is plenty of reason to be musically excited about South Florida. Why? Because art isn't the only thing that rolls into town. Plenty of musical acts also stop by that week to entertain the crowds. In previous years Peaches, Iggy Pop, Justice, MSTRKRFT, Moby and Glass Candy have all made Art Basel appearances.

While things have been quiet so far (no word on who is playing the official Art Loves Music event), we have received word that Casiotone for the Painfully Alone will be kicking things off properly at NADA Art Fair, which is taking over Ice Palace Studios, December 2.

Casiotone is actually the solo-project of musician Owen Ashworth who meshes simple electronic beats and quaint lyrics to achieve songs that easily get stuck in your head. Most describe his sound as lo-fi or indie electronica.

But don't get too excited yet, as tickets to the opening night preview of NADA are quite steep. Tickets start at $100 for 5 p.m. tickets and $150 for 4 p.m. tickets and are more expensive if you wait to buy them at the door. However, the money being raised will go on to benefit New Museum in New York. So if the recession hasn't hit you too bad yet, you can purchase tickets online at the New Museum Store.

After the jump, check out Casiotone for the Painfully Alone's video for "White Corrolla."
