Attending one of Chef Joseph's Fabulous Wine Dinners is just like having dinner at a friend's house -- presuming your host will regale you with a gourmet four-course feast and an array of fine wines and won't make you take an "exciting" tour of the remodeled master bath as a prerequisite to the meal.

Real Housewife Ramona Singer To Release Her Own Pinot Grigio

ramonasingerwine.jpg

If you watch "Real Housewives of New York", you've been introduced to Ramona Singer. This fascinating woman is best known for her crazy bug eyes, shreiky voice and ability to put away Pinot Grigio like a drunken sailor on shore leave. The only time this woman is filmed without a glass of Pinot Grigio in her hand is when she's helping market the family business of religious jewelry (yes, you read that correctly).

It actually stands to reason that Ramona would release her own Pinot Grigio. According to the distributor's website, Ramona's Pinot Grigio is "made from 100% Pinot Grigio - grown in the hilly Veneto region of Italy, the home of Romeo & Juliet".  The $13.99 per bottle price tag makes it well priced to consume mass quantities - just like Romana does.

Video of Ramona Singer after "about 46 Pinot Grigios" after the jump.

Spin the Bottle Winetasting at the Rustic Cellar in Boca

Categories: Wine List

Spin the bottle brings back preteen memories in a suburban basement when Cara DeBoest's parents weren't around. The Rustic Cellar has upgraded the setting considerably.

This Thursday, the cozy Cellar will host Spin the Wine, a collision of spin the bottle and a regular tasting. Management has put the kibosh on kissin'... but issued no prohibition against removing articles of clothing.

Alas, things probably won't get that out of hand. Despite the Cellar's cautioning that "anything could happen!" it's still Boca. The most that'll come loose is an expensive earring.

Couples and singles are welcome; $16 (in advance) allows you four spins and a chance to win more glasses of vino plus apps. If you show up at the party, it's $20.

Cafe Maxx Pairs Up Champagne and Sushi

sushi.jpg
Since sushi is traditionally served with but a few beverages -- tea, beer and/or sake -- this pairing is slightly unorthodox. But not really -- white wine with sushi is increasingly popular, and what's champagne but white wine with fizz?

Also, it's more common to see sushi prepared by non-Japanese folks, which is what this cooking class is featuring.

There's chef Oliver Saucy, chef Darin Hoagland, and pastry chef Danielle Herring, none of them sounding too Japanese. Orthodoxy is out!
