Food-Truck Event in Delray Beach This Friday Night

Dinner for the masses in Delray Beach.
While the comfortably familiar tradition of Oktoberfest rages on -- how are those lederhosen holding up, by the way? -- there are also a few new events to check out this weekend, including a new concert series in Delray Beach. Friday night will see the launch of "Mix of Music for the Masses," a free weekly concert series at Old School Square. The job of feeding said masses will be handled by a food-truck rally -- with trucks like B.C. Tacos, 4Alarm Pizza, Kona Ice, gastroPod, Tango Grill, and Slow Food Truck -- on premises and a cash bar, to boot.

Mexican Independence Day at Rocco's Tacos and Tequila Bar

That bar looks like it's just asking for the Tequila Dance.
Never ones to let a good "drinking" holiday go by unobserved, Rocco's Tacos and Tequila Bar will commemorate Mexican Independence Day on Friday at its three South Florida locations; Boca Raton, Fort Lauderdale and West Palm Beach. Each party will have its own draw - live music by Suenalo in Fort Lauderdale, cover band The Edge in Boca and DJs at WPB.

Festivities kick off at 4 p.m. and can be counted to continue well into the night. Expect drink specials (and maybe some of those infamous free tequila pourings for which Rocco Mangel has become known), followed by the possibly poor decision-making skills that typically accompany such a sequence of events.

Tonight: First Ladies' Night at Dirty Martini in Palm Beach Gardens with American Idol's Taylor Hicks Live

Nicole Danna
The Charlie Sheen, a "very dirty" martini
The perfect dirty martini isn't just shaken, not stirred. It's also not too strong or too sweet -- and definitely not too weak.

No, the perfect dirty martini is made to your precise specifications -- which is exactly how you'll get it at Dirty Martini, a new martini lounge located in Downtown at the Gardens.

Here the drink menu features five dirty versions ($14), from the "not so dirty" James Bond blending Finladia vodka with Bombay gin and Lillet to the "sweet" Marilyn Monroe made with Grey Goose, Chambord, and fresh lemon juice. With so many ways to do just one cocktail, it sums up what Dirty is all about: choice.

The latest late-night hot spot from Cleve Mash -- a partner in crime behind such Clematis Street establishments as Feelgoods,

Dirty Martini to Debut in Palm Beach Gardens

martini (180x228).jpg
Martinis from clean to very dirty, as well as 'tinis channeling everything from watermelon to chocolate cake, plus bar bites like you've never seen before from Kubo chef Roy Villacrusis, are all on the menu of Cleve Mash's Dirty Martini (11701 Lake Victoria Gardens Ave.; 561-799-1115)  bar 'n' lounge, coming to Palm Beach Gardens later this month.

Mash, the guy behind Feelgoods, Lost Weekend, and Monarchy, took over the old Strip House restaurant in the resurgent Downtown at the Gardens mall and set about remaking the 8,600-square-foot space into a midcentury-modern martini bar/lounge/dance club.

If Red Bull Gives You Wings, Will Ed Hardy Energy Shots Give You the Eye of the Tiger?

Nicole Danna
Just in case you need an extra shot of cool to go along with that muscle shirt or jewel-studded T-shirt dress, Ed Hardy has come to the rescue with a new product: his own brand of extra-strength energy shots.

For just $3 a pop, you can literally have the eye of the tiger with this sugar-free, low-carb boost of designer endurance -- the must-have accessory for all those late-night, club-hopping benders.

Choose from two flavors: "Burst" or "Blast." It doesn't really say if it's a burst of berry or a citrusy blast, but no matter -- both taste equally, er, ferocious. So what if the flavors are a bit nebulous? It's Ed Hardy! Who cares?

Forget ITB: Wednesday is the New Hospitality Industry Night at Monarchy in West Palm Beach

Categories: Night Life
The new Hospitality Industry Night at Monarchy
There's a new night in West Palm Beach, and it's not for the faint of heart. If you're a bartender, hostess -- or even a hairdresser -- you may want to check it out.

Why? It's all about you -- the service industry professional.

Officially dubbed Hospitality Industry Night (HIN), it's not just another "in the biz" break. With drink specials and promos that make the couple of happy hour cocktails you get at late night dive bars seem downright pathetic, this is one biz-based party designed to out-do all the others.
