We've all had it, that sinking feeling that sets in when we have a craving for something specific, only to find out one of our favorite restaurants is closed.

It's the worst.

There's good news on the horizon for lovers of d.b.a./ Cafe. The laid-back Fort Lauderdale spot is expanding its hours of operation to seven-days a week, including lunch.

On Friday, the cafe will begin opening at 11 a.m. and continue with service through the evening.

The daytime offerings will include d.b.a.'s full dinner menu along with a few sandwiches, some salads, and specials, covering a couple of brunchy items and some less expensive options.

Expect to see items like potato and leek vichyssoise topped with smoked salmon and caviar (matched with Verdejo), an international cheese platter (with optional two ounces of house-cured foie gras for an additional $10), and the $18 foie PB+J served with house-made potato chips (Funky Buddha's vanilla porter is the suggested beer pairing).

"We're aiming to have something for everyone," says d.b.a. owner Tom Moynihan. "We're balancing out the dinner menu with daily specials and more approachable items for those on a budget."

Each month, the global eclectic menu will change fully, but the goal is to keep it seasonal.

"We're keeping this menu for the next month," says Moynihan. "As the seasons change and certain items pop up, we'll be switching it up."

For those looking to get a d.b.a. fix on Mondays, the eatery will begin operating seven days a week starting on August 18.
