Myapapaya's Dreamy Greeny is the Best Smoothie on the Planet
Chalk it up to inflation, if you want, but there once was a day in which the mere thought of a $9 smoothie would make you balk.
That was a time in which the vast majority of these "healthy" meal replacements were filled with processed proteins and sickeningly sweet syrup-covered berries.
Things have changed dramatically over the years, and smoothies and juices have returned to a more natural state.
Still, nine bucks seems like a lot to fork out for a non-alcoholic drink. But Myapapaya has one smoothie that has
this highly opinionated food writer us coming back several times per week. It's called the Dreamy Greeny, and it is quite possibly, the best smoothie on the entire planet.
Look, around here we're all into stuffing our faces with burgers and chowing down on massive steaks, but every now and then, we like to keep it light and nourishing. And that's when we reach for think dreamy motha' of a bevy.
No, it's not your average strawberry-banana-OJ combo - not that there's anything wrong with that. But it's so much better, it's hard to believe you ever thought the original was good in the first place.
While the list of ingredients may sound strange, the outcome is freaking amazing. Fresh avocado, nutrient-dense spinach, filling banana, house-made cashew mylk (yes, spelled mylk), dried dates, and vanilla extract are blended together into a luscious sippable (or really gulpable) medley.
Delicious, velvety, and slightly (but not too) sweet, it's like inhaling a piece of heaven in a biodegradable disposable cup.
One sip in, your palate starts tingling. Another gulp, and you're beginning to get excited. Third swill: you're wondering how the hell something so good could possibly be healthy.
Then 2:43 minutes later it's gone, like Ilsa stepping onto that plane in Casablanca's final scene. And just as you're heart ached of the love lost in that epic movie, when this smoothie is gone, you'll feel the same inner turmoil and pain.
Hey, you know the saying, "It's better to have loved and lost, then never to have loved at all." Fortunately, in this case, you can buy another one on another day.
