Head brewer Wayne Wambles shows off the canning line.

Recently, about a hundred people across 18 different Total Wine & More stores in South Florida were lucky to participate in a Cigar City Brewing virtual tour and non-virtual tasting even in accordance with the laws and traditions of American Craft Beer Week.

Clean Plate was able to attend one of those sessions, at the Boynton Beach Total Wine location, where the TW staff laid out a smorgasbord of wraps, chicken, cold cuts, and even some carrot cake while going through eight different CCB brewed beers.

In addition, event-goers were able to submit questions and watch a live feed of head brewer Wayne Wambles answering said questions. A real treat for anyone who is a fan of the now five year old brewery.

Maybe you wish to relive the experience of the night, or perhaps you weren't able to make it. Either way, the brewery was kind enough to upload the entire video where you can follow along with Wambles as he makes his way through the facility.

The live Q&A portion.

He is a personable fellow and really knows his stuff. I wasn't surprised when he started talking in depth about the pros and cons of various filtering mechanisms or his explanations for his preference for cans over bottles. (Spoiler alert: It's all about oxidation).

As a bonus, this is really the first public showing of the brewery's newest canning line, which will significantly speed up production. The tour features areas like the lab and hop coolers which are normally off limits to regular tours.

Grab a few beers, preferably all of the five core ones [Jai Alai, Maduro, Florida Cracker, Hotter Than Helles, Invasion], and follow along at home.
