You may feel pretty altruistic when sitting down for a meal at vegan restaurant Sublime, but this Wednesday night, you'll get a chance to up your kindness points when the restaurant staff hosts its first installment of a monthly winetasting dinner to benefit area nonprofits.

Wednesday's Italian Wine Tasting Dinner to benefit the Animal Rights Foundation of Florida will feature a five-course meal paired with wines presented by the vintner or winemaker for each course.

Sublime's owner, Nanci Alexander, says Rome, Sicily, and Venice will each be represented on the plate with selections like the Caponata (roasted eggplant, red pepper, red onion, and capers), house-made fettuccine (with mushrooms, marsala, and pan-fried Gardein), or the antipasto plate of Sublime cashew cheese, pickled veggies, and crostini.

Alexander (who also serves as president of ARFF) promises the night that celebrates the 25th anniversary of ARFF will be full of "delicious Italian cuisine with a delightful assortment of wines, all for a great cause."

If you can't make this inaugural installment or Italian cuisine just isn't your thing, Sublime plans on hosting these benefit wine dinners every last Wednesday of the month with a different regional cuisine and wine selection featured for each one.
