Two weeks from now, on March 6th, Funky Buddha Brewery in Oakland Park is going to be releasing the next of their series of larger format bottled beers, the Nib Smuggler Chocolate Milk Porter. The 6.2% alcohol by volume lactose porter uses Brazillian cacao nibs and vanilla beans.

If you've never had the opportunity to sample this delectable sweet porter, it's been described as drinking a Yoo-hoo, with subtle roast and vanilla flavors.

Randomly on tap at the Funky Buddha Lounge in Boca Raton and at events held in Oakland Park, it will be made available for the first time in 22 ounce bottles to the first 700 people to pick one up (one bottle per person on this one, as seems to be the norm on release days). Bottles are $12 each (so roughly the cost of two pours of the beer) starting at 6pm.

Those not interested in picking it up to take home, there will be plenty of opportunity to drink it at the brewery, and news is the beer will become a staple of bars and restaurants in our area starting at the end of this month.

In addition, the brewery will have a few other interesting beers on tap, we've discovered, including a barrel-aged offering of Nib Smuggler, as well as What's For Breakfast, the French Toast Double Brown Ale that was a 'secret' beer at the Maple Bacon Coffee Porter release day.

A bottle release at Funky Buddha wouldn't be exciting without some food trucks, so expect Best French Fries, Batter Co., and Frankie Dogs to be in attendance.
