Fort Lauderdale Police Release Video of McDonald's Robbery (Video)

Fort Lauderdale police have released video of a McDonald's robbery.
The Fort Lauderdale Police Department has just released video of an armed robbery that occurred at the McDonald's located at 1600 South State Road 7 in Fort Lauderdale.

According to police, on Sunday, February 2 at approximately 10:30 p.m., two armed and disguised suspects entered the restaurant, ordering customers to not move.

"Both suspects demanded the employees escort them to the safe and open the registers. The manager witnessed this interaction and immediately fled from the business before being confronted by the suspects."

When employees could not gain access to the safe, the suspects took a customer's cell phone, exited the restaurant, and fled in a waiting vehicle.

Witnesses described the suspect vehicle as a newer model, red, two-door, vehicle with tinted windows. Based on witnesses' statements, the detectives believe the suspect vehicle is possibly a Pontiac G-6 coupe.

According to police, the first suspect is described as a "black male, in his 20's, approximately 6'0" in height, average build, wearing black clothing, a mask, gloves, and armed with a handgun".
The second suspect is described as a "black male, in his 20's, approximately 6'0" to 6'2" in height, average build, wearing black clothing, a mask, gloves, and armed with a rifle".

The robbery, which took less than a minute, can be seen on the video, starting at the 1:20 mark. Detectives are urging anyone with further information regarding this robbery or the identity of the suspects to contact Detective Elijah Thomas at 954-828-6093.
