Ten Best Seafood Restaurants in Broward and Palm Beach Counties

2. Sea Restaurant

In this nondescript strip-mall spot on East Commercial Boulevard, chef/owner Tony Sindaco pumps out a menu that is opposite of ordinary. Extraordinary dishes, from tuna Bolognese to braised black grouper, served with ever-changing but perfectly cooked accoutrements, will satisfy any seafood lover's craving -- and might convert a few haters. The mind-blowing effect totally makes sense given Sindaco's résumé; the award-winning chef spent time working in kitchens across the U.S. and Europe, including stints at Michelin 5-Star Palace Hotel in Gstaad, Switzerland, and the Five Diamond Helmsley Palace in New York City under Andre Rene. At Sea, Sindaco brings his haute approach to his casual 22-seat eatery just blocks from the beach. That's exactly why we nominated the spot New Times winner for Best Seafood - 2012.

1. PB Catch

While we all love a divey raw bar, there are times when we want the best of the best. Situated on Palm Beach, this little gem of a spot got our pick for Best Seafood Restaurant 2013 for its wide selection of flavorful sustainable fish, huge assortment of oysters from around the world, and innovative "seacuterie" -- cured seafood items. Dishes like mussels in Thai basil broth with coconut and lotus root chips ($15), Parmesan-macadamia-zucchini-crusted mahi-mahi with arugula, avocado, orange, and toasted coconut ($29), and Chilean sea bass with caramelized soy-infused Brussels sprouts, enoki mushrooms, glazed baby carrots, and crispy leeks ($39) highlight the globally inspired, sustainable fare.

No mention of Bimini Boatyard. So many years at the top of the #restaurant list in #broward. What's up?

....................SUNSET CATCH is missing,  maybe it's just too new,  or maybe too expensive,  BUT it does get great reviews on YELP which for the $$$ money spent means value and had gotten ZAGATs attention as well ..........................(PLUS i don't see any complaints from pain-in-the-ass NYer snow-birds so i guess it was just overLOOKed)

.....................SOUTHPORT is more of a local-yokel eatery than any other place i could think of in ft liquordale (and over the last month or so i've seen wayne H and dan M there also and they basically can go anywhere else) and every FRIDAY a must have is the crawfish bisque which is like crack to me and BTW the hamburger grilled outside is about the best you can get actually cooked to order and most people miss the ceiling artworks and being rough around the edges keeps the TOURISTs away (very nice indeed)

Kelley's and Southport are not better than Wild Sea or Lobster Grille which are both in your best restaurant list...

Joe's Crab Shack and Legal Seafoods aren't on this list. The person(s) who wrote this (and his/her editor) is fucking clown shoes!

The big omission here IMO...

Calypso Restaurant, Pompano Beach.

Of course, it's not strictly seafood, so perhaps that carried some weight.

............................great location to gather BUT the food is SYSCO - frozen then fried or bland and tasteless pre-processed assembly line plastic packaged blahhh = period

it has VALET parking for the old-timers who cannot walk and don't know any better

@SethPlatt We, obviously, think Wild Sea and Lobster Bar a great, but we wanted to mix it up with different kinds of seafood restaurants. We felt it was better to feature some high-end and some more affordable options, and a list is a finite thing.

Aside from no Legal Seafoods being located in the state, we try to stay away from chains for the lists.

Legal Seafood closed several months ago. Perhaps that's why it isn't on the list. Who's a clown now?

We thought about Rustic Inn, but decided these places were more worthy of a spot on the list.
