Restaurant Closings in Broward and Palm Beach 2013: Year in Review

At least they got a new bikini...
With the change in year comes a time to reflect on the past twelve months and what it meant. Was it a time of growth or regression? Tumultuous or orderly? Obviously, it's different for everyone and everything.

While the overall economy seemed to be picking up in 2013, South Florida still saw its fair share of restaurants shuttering doors. From beloved local coffee shops (Brew Urban Cafe) to seafood institutions (Jake's Stone Crab) to a coffee shop with baristas in bikinis that didn't even make it a month (Bikinii Coffee), the past 365 days were not so kind to some in the industry.

Check out the list of restaurant mortality for 2013.
