Anthony Bourdain Buys $3.35 Million Condo With a Palm Beach Connection
Anthony Bourdain is a home owner. The celebrity chef, television host, and professional Tweeter, has just purchased a condo at Carnegie Hill Tower in New York's tony Carnegie Hill section (just off Fifth Avenue for those of you not familiar with Manhattan real estate).
Douglas Elliman Anthony Bourdain's new digs.
The condo, a three bedroom, three bath apartment with family room that can be converted into a fourth bedroom (in case Eric Ripert goes on a bender and needs a crash pad), is located at 90 East 94th Street and was purchased for a cool $3.35 mil, according to New York City records.
So what's the Palm Beach connection?
The apartment is described as being a
"union of two condominiums with garden views and sunny East and West exposures, has the unique capability to create your own personal living space. The upper part of the bi-level Livingroom, can easily convert back to the 4th or 5th Bedroom as it once was, giving you a seperate [sic] children's wing, including a play room and or Maids room Features include a custom Kitchen, a full Laundry room, beautiful hardwood floors, new windows, and 3 full Marble Baths.Carnegie Hill Tower is a premier condominium ,known for its fine staff which includes a full time Doorman as well as full time Concierge. The many amenities feature a garage, an exercise room, private storage,a bicycle room, and a gated garden. This luxury condominium is just one block from Central Park, near major fine schools and great museums."
What has the entire real estate and culinary worlds' collective heads turning? According to the blueprint on upscale Manhattan Douglas Elliman's website, the kitchen at the new Bourdain residence is teeny-tiny. Either our friend is planning a full renovation or our favorite snarkmeister is going to be eating out a lot.
If there are any Tony Bourdain superfans, another apartment in the same building is being offered for a cool $7,699,000. Sure, it's expensive, but seeing Tony in the elevator every morning is priceless, isn't it?
Prior to the purchase, the Bourdains were renting an apartment on the Upper East Side.
