It's one of the most popular and sought after craft beers produced in Florida. It has a 99 out of 100 rating on BeerAdvocate.com and a perfect 100 out of 100 on Ratebeer.com. It combines the umami-like heaven that is maple syrup and bacon. It's Funky Buddha Brewery's Maple Bacon Coffee Porter and it is being released in bottles for the first time ever this January.

The flavor profile is described by the guys at Funky Buddha as "a complex beer with a multitude of flavors at work. It pours an opaque, ebony brew with a frothy tan head. Aromas of sticky maple syrup and fresh-brewed coffee creep forth from the glass. The mouth feel is luxuriously creamy, with layers of sweet malt and roast giving way to waves of smoke, coffee, and dark salted chocolate. The finish is sticky, rich, and sweet, with flavors of maple syrup lingering pleasantly on the tongue."

Thirsty?

The limited run of 22-ounce bottles will be sold exclusively at Funky Buddha Brewery during an apropos festival January 11, featuring live music, food trucks, and a host of (less) special (by comparison) release beers on tap.

"Maple Bacon Coffee Porter was the first beer that really earned us attention outside of our taproom," says Funky Buddha's Founder and Head Brewer, Ryan Sentz. "I remember thinking how crazy it was that this little brew pub in Boca Raton was being noticed nationally, and our success is definitely owed in part to that."

Each time this insanely popular brew is brought to the taps it's practically a festival anyway. But with the release of the bottles - and the opportunity to run home and sit in your own living room sipping a 22 ounce bottle of of the magic stuff - Funky Buddha is putting out all the stops to keep you hanging around. In addition tot he live music and other special brews, there will be five food trucks to help you soak up the alcohol, including The Rolling Stove and Pescados Unidos.

Bottle sales will begin at 11am and run until 7pm on January 11, 2014, and will be limited to two per customer; first-come, first-served.

In the meantime, keep getting your Funky-fix at either the original Funky Buddha Lounge (2621 N. Federal Highway in Boca Raton; 561-368-4643) or the newer Funky Buddha Brewery (1201 NE 38th St. in Oakland Park; 954-440-0046). Visit thefunkybuddha.com.
