Make Black Friday Enjoyable With These Beer-centric Events
Forget your previous plans of waiting in line for hours just to get your hands on another cheap television, or that new-fangled Chinese-made plastic hype toy that's the "must-have" gift of the holiday season. This year, it's time to get social, not psycho, with a plethora of local beer events to take the 'Ack!' out of Black Friday.

First up are the breweries. Funky Buddha Brewery in Oakland Park will be giving thanks to its patrons all week with a dollar off the purchase of a glass growler, and starting at noon on Black Friday will be tapping Wolf Pack Black Ale. Happy hour will last until 7pm, and the brewery will be giving 10% all merchandise that day. $35 will even score you a t-shirt and a growler fill. Not a bad way to pick up some gifts for the beer lover in your life.
Boynton Beach's Due South Brewing will be celebrating Black Friday with a lineup of everything dark. Expect a regal showing of 2012 Pico Duarte Imperial Stout, 2013 Pico Duarte Imperial Stout, Apple Brandy Pico Duarte, Chocolate Mint Imperial Porter, Blueberry Stout, Roasted Cocoa Stout, and Cafe Ole Espresso Porter. If that's not enough, food trucks Sauced Up and The Rolling Stove will be out in force, along with some merchandise deals. The darkness starts at noon.
Trying to make the day as interesting as possible, Chicago's Goose Island Brewery will be making a national release of their highly rated (100 at Ratebeer, and 100 at BeerAdvocate) Bourbon County Coffee Stout and accompanying Bourbon County line of beers at midnight on the 29th, so to hell with Best Buy: this is the line to stand in. Bourbon County Brand Stout, Bourbon County Brand Coffee Stout, and Bourbon County Brand Barleywine are all set for release, with the Stout having a robust mix of charred oak, vanilla, carmel, and smoke. These are like a fine wine.
The Riverside Market - Hop in at midnight on the 29th (just after the clock turns over from Thanksgiving) to grab a bottle of Stout, Coffee Stout, or Barleywine.
Tap 42 - Still need sleep? Then head over to Tap 42 for their Goose Island Bourbon County release event at 11:30am on the 29th. Wake up with a glass of Bourbon County Barleywine, hitting notes of oak, charcoal, hints of tobacco and vanilla, and that signature bourbon heat, and then take home a bottle of the 13.4% above Bourbon County Coffee.
Sybarite Pig - For Palm Beachers, west Boca Raton has you covered with a few cases of Bourbon County available when they open at noon.
