Five Best Food and Drink Events in South Florida This Weekend: Stache Grand Opening, Mutts and Martinis, and More

Categories: Happening

4. Holiday Cooking Class
Most people try to eat at home on the holidays; however, you kind of need to know how to cook to do so. If you're looking to pick up some tips, or learn how to not burn the house down, Le Bistro is hosting a holiday cooking class on Saturday, November 16 from noon to 3 p.m. Fifty bucks scores you lunch, recipes, and live demos. Reservations are required.
Le Bistro is located at 4626 N. Federal Highway in Lighthouse Point. Call 954-946-9240, or visit lebistrorestaurant.com.

3. Bow Wow and Meow
Let's be honest: you're probably going out drinking on Saturday night; you might as well do it for a cause. On Saturday from 4 to 6 p.m., Burt & Max's is hosting a fundraising event for the Tri-County Humane Society. For $20 in advance, $25 at the door, the event includes food and drinks courtesy of Rapoport's Restaurant Group, dog agility performances, face painting, balloon animals, live music, and pet adoptions. There is no cost for kids to attend. Anyone who adopts an animal gets $100 gift certificate to Rapoport's Restaurant Group.
Burt & Max's is located at 9025 W. Atlantic Ave. in Delray Beach. Call 561-482-8110, or visit eventbrite.com/e/bow-wow-and-meow-benefit-tickets.

2. Mutts and Martinis
Dog people tend to stick together; however a trip to the dog park can be a slobbery, muddy affair. Leave the dirty in your martini this Friday from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m., while hanging with Fido and other dog loving peeps at Riverwalk's Mutts and Martinis. Being held at the Historic Downtowner Saloon, the event will be bringing canine enthusiasts from across South Florida together to raise funds for Riverwalk Fort Lauderdale. The cost to attend is $25 at the door -- dogs get free entrance with their human companion -- which includes two drinks, heavy appetizers, live music, a silent auction, a doggie fashion show, and plenty of other dog-centric activities.
The Historic Downtowner Saloon is located at 10 S. New River Drive East in Fort Lauderdale. Call 954-468-1541, or visit goriverwalk.com.

1. Stache Grand Opening Ball
Speakeasies are supposed to be secret -- keeping quiet isn't exactly our thing. On Saturday starting at 8 p.m., Stache is finally hosting its Grand Opening Ball. With a roaring '20's theme, it includes live burlesque, cabaret, and vaudeville shows as well as live performances by Bobby Lee Rodgers and the Bourbon Boys Band. For details email, rsvpstache@gmail.com.
Stache is located at 109 SW Third Ave. in Fort Lauderdale. Visit facebook.com/events .

It's definitely not awesome yet. At least the last two Saturdays. The upstairs is set up. The downstairs/main bar is nice and open but "speakeasy?" No. And the DJ was horrible. Definitely not speakeasy music or vibe. Still better than most of the other spots on that part of downtown. I really was hoping for a good speakeasy to stand out against the crappy house music on the rest of the block but the last two Saturdays definitely not speakeasy worthy.

Stach Bar is awesome. We highly suggest checking it out.
